• 1967’s vision of 1999

    Preparing Dinner:

    My commentary, by timecode:

00:16: Oh the conveniences of technology… Mom doesn’t even have to leave the kitchen in order to be nagged for dinner!
01:17: “CheeseBURGER, woman! And don’t forget the fries and beer!”

    Shopping From Home:

    My commentary, by timecode:

    00:13: OMG, it has coverflow!
00:40: Nice, his set-up looks like Al Gore’s
01:26: “I hope my wife doesn’t burn all this money I’m making on items off of the giant shopping computer.”

As far as technology predictions go, their vision of 1999’s personal computer wasn’t that far off. Though I’m not sure they had a grasp on the concept of multitasking, as they envision dedicated monitors for each task. Other than that, I think it’s a fairly accurate prediction of the technology we had in ‘99
